May 19, 2013 -
Sunrise wins two State Cup championships today as the 96/97 girls and
the 97/98 boys both capture their second State Cup titles.
April 28, 2013 -
Sunrise puts three teams in the Final Four, four teams in the Elite
Eight and five teams in the Sweet 16, out of six entries. Congrats to
the 96/97 girls, the 97/98 boys and the 98/99 girls for advancing to the
Final Four.
March 30, 2013 - 97/98 boys win their second straight

March 17, 2013 - The Sunrise U15 (97/98) boys officially won the
National League today.

2013 - The 96/97 girls win the Platinum division of the Jefferson Cup.
February 18, 2013 - The 96/97 (U16) girls swept the field in the Weston
Cup U19 Showcase. The girls defeated two of the very best U17 teams in
the state on the way to the title.
November 11, 2012 - The 96/97 girls wrapped up their third season in the
Region III Premier League East. Competing against the top teams from
Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, the team finished in fourth
place, just one point out of second place and three points out of 1st
place. The girls finished with their best record in their three years of
competition (7-3-1).

Sunrise earns title in Palm Beach
October 29, 2012 - The 02/03 (u10 Black) girls captured their third
straight tournament championship at the West Pines Kick Off Classic.
The team came back with 10 minutes remaining to become
Co-Champions with the West Pines United Strikers Black team.
Down 4-2, the girls never gave up. They scored two quick goals
and tied the game 4-4. With no time left on the clock the lightning
alarm sounded. After a two
hour delay, the decision was made to declare both teams champions.
Way to Go Girls.
July 28, 2012 - a magical season came to an end as our U14 boys fell
just short, dropping to California in PKs in the National Championship
game. Congrats to our coaches, parents and most of all, our players, on a
great run.

today marks a historic day in the history of Sunrise soccer as our U14
boys team has won the Southern Regionals and is now headed to play for
the National Championship! Go Sunrise!

May 30, 2012 - Highlights of the
U12G Black team's season.
May 20, 2012 - Sunrise won two State Cup titles today to lead the state
(along with Jacksonville). Sunrise won the U13G and U14B championships.
Both teams are now headed to the
Southern Regionals and have locked up
an invitation to the Region III East league for next year.
May 5, 2012 - Two Sunrise teams have advanced to
the Final Four. The Sunrise U13 girls (98/99) and the U14 boys (97/98)
both won today to move on to the Final Four.
April 7, 2012 - Sunrise U14 boys win the Dallas Cup. The Dallas Cup
is considered the top U14 boys tournament in the country.

25, 2012 - The National League wrapped up today in Las Vegas. The 96/97
girls finished in sixth place, one point behind the two teams tied for
fourth place. The girls got to compete against some of the very best
teams in the country.
September 5, 2011 - Three Sunrise teams play up and win at Labor Day
tournaments. Congrats to the 98/99 girls, the 99/00 girls and the 97/98
boys.

- The 99/00 girls play up and win Labor Day tournament
August 4, 2011 - Congrats to the 96/97 girls. The team has been selected
to play in the
National League.
May 22, 2011 - The Region III Premier League East (R3PLE) concluded
today and the Sunrise Sting 96/97 girls have finished in second place.
R3PLE is composed of 14 of the top teams from Florida, Georgia, North
Carolina and South Carolina. The Sting finish with a 7-3-3 mark. By
finishing in second, the team gets an invitation to the Southern
Regionals to be held in the middle of June in Tennessee. The Sting also
now qualifies for the new Region III Premier Regional League. That
league begins in August and features the four top teams from the East,
two from the Central and four from the West.
April 13, 2011 -Twelve Sunrise
players garner All County First Team honors.

March 3, 2011 - Sunrise players (92/93) dominated the BCAA High School
All Star game as the South team defeated the North team 1-0. Jessica
Bello scored the only goal of the game and was named MVP for the South
and Sarah Motta was named MVP for the north. Keeper Rebecca Rogers
had four saves for the south. Ty Rosemelia and Anastasia Mesa also were
key players on defense for the south. Congrats to all the girls!
February 6, 2011 - The Sting 96/97 team finished the 2010-2011 Florida
State League season as champions, recording a 9-1-1 mark. The team
improved from a third place finish last year.
December 30, 2010 - The Sting 96/97 team won the Orange Classic for the
fourth time in five years and improved their overall OC record to
21-1-0. The girls went 5-0 in this tournament, scoring 10 goals and
allowing zero, defeating Beach FC (VA), the Patriots (NY) and D'feeters
(TX) on the way to the title.
November 30, 2010 - The Sting 98/99 team wins the Disney Junior Showcase
for the second consecutive year. The team had wins over Charlotte SA
Torsion, Carolina Elite, Concorde Fire and Cobb FC. The team then played
Charlotte in the final to win the title.
October 24, 2010 - The 96/97 girls play up one year and win the Premier
division of theWest Pines Kickoff Classic. The 98/99 girls also play up
and lose in PKs in the finals. Great work by both teams.
September 10, 2010 - Congrats to Ty Rosemellia. Ty plays on our Sunrise
Fire u18 girls team and has been on the team since u12. Ty attends
Pembroke Pines Charter High School and last year earned 1st Team All
County honors as one of the top defenders in Broward County. Today she
committed to play for Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne. The
Tech women's soccer team is currently ranked no. 13 in Division II.
September 7, 2010 - The 98/99 girls play up in the Premier division
and win the Miami Super Cup.
August 1, 2010 - Bella, Julia, Madiya, Mona, Morgan and Zandy
represented Sunrise at the 3v3 National Championship in the u11 age
group. The team won for the second straight year. Great job girls and
good luck to our team for this year.
July 30, 2010 - Congrats to Kaitlyn Manning. Kaitlyn plays on our rising
u18 girls team and has been on the team since u12. Today, she committed
to play for Rollins College. Rollins is a highly regarded liberal arts
school with a good soccer program. Kaitlyn is a top level student at St.
Thomas and a leader on their soccer team and has been an important part
of the Sunrise team for years.
July 24, 2010 - Congrats to Sarah Motta. Sarah plays on the rising U18
girls team and committed to go to school and play soccer at Lehigh
University. Lehigh is a D1 school that plays in the Patriot League.
Sarah has also been one of the key players on the great Cardinal Gibbons
team of the last few years. Sarah joined our team as a u13 player and
has improved her game every year.
June 28,
2010 - Sunrise player Haleigh Stremanos was named the WPSL Player of
the Week. WPSL is the Women's Premier Soccer
League that is composed mostly of college players. Haleigh is playing
this summer with the Miami Kickers before she returns to the Sunrise
U18s in the fall. The 16 year-old rising star scored two goals and
struck the post in a 5-0 victory over second-place Palm Beach United in
Sunshine Conference action. Stremanos followed that with a strong
performance against conference-leaders FSA Freedom, striking the post
again in the 0-0 draw.

May 23, 2010 - The 96/97 girls won State Cup. The team went a perfect
7-0-0 to win the State's biggest tournament.
May 10, 2010 - Another Sunrise player scooped up a huge high school
award. Congrats to Dara Spital, a forward on our u17 team, who was named
the
Florida Player of the Year. Dara played for Gulliver and scored the
most goals in Dade county.
April 26, 2010 - Congrats to '93 players Haleigh Stremanos and Lauriell
Young for making the Florida '93 ODP team.
April 11, 2010 - Great job by our 93/94 girls. The team won the
President's Cup today and are headed to Oklahoma. The Club is also
proud of our 98/99 girls team, they finish as a semi-finalist at the
President's Cup. And the 94/95 girls win the Division II championship!
March 20, 2010 - The 98/99 girls, the 94/95 girls and the 93/94 girls teams win Region A
championships. The 92/93 Select team finishes in second place at the
Region Cup.

Haleigh Stremanos is named the Sun-Sentinel Player of the Year!
Ty Rosemellia and Lauren Silver makes the First Team, Sarah Motta and
Danielle Grossman make the second team.
March 10, 2010 - Becca Rodgers, a goalie on our U17 team, made the
Super-Y ODP Select Team. Great job.
February 15, 2010 - The 98/99 girls, playing up, win the U12 Premier
division of the Weston Invitational. The 95/96 girls win the U14 Classic
division. The 96/97 girls, playing up, finish as a finalist in the U14
Premier division. Good job to all.
February 13, 2010 - Congrats to U17 players
Haleigh Stremanos,Angelica SantAntonio and Melisa Camacho, who won the
3A State Championship in soccer today. The girls play for American
Heritage of Plantation. Congrats to Lauren Silver and Danelle Nguyen who
won the 2A State Championship yesterday. The girls play for American
Heritage of Delray.
February 9, 2010 - Lauren Silver, a player on our u17 team, has
committed to play soccer at the University of Florida in 2011 season.
Sabrina Zero has committed to Southeastern University. Congrats to both
players!
November 29, 2009 - The 98/99 girls win the Disney Junior Showcase in
overtime. The team had wins over Charlotte Elite (NC), Unionville (CND),
Rush (FL), Krush (FL) and defeated Charlotte United for the title.
November 29, 2009 - The 96/97 girls made it
to the semi-finals of the Disney Junior Showcase. The team won their
bracket winning all three games over the Concorde Fire, Michigan Rush
and GSA Phoenix. In the semi-finals the Sting played the Dallas Texans,
a two-time North Texas State Cup champion. The Texans broke a 1-1 tie in
the final minute to win the game.
November 23, 2009 - U17 Premier girls team
returns from CASL undefeated.
November 5, 2009 - Jennifer Martin, a player on the u17 team, has
committed to play soccer in college at the University of Central
Florida. UCF has become a hot program nationwide as the team broke into
the top 10 this year. Congrats to Jennifer!
October 19, 2009 - The 96/97 team play up at the West Pines Kickoff
Classic. The girls won their bracket, competing in a division with two
FSL division 1 teams, but fall in the finals by a 2-0 margin.
October 19, 2009 - Congrats to u17 Jen Martin on being selected to the
Inter-Regional camp in Mississippi in December.
October 19, 2009 - Sunrise Sting 98/99 Girls finish second in the U12 Gold division of the Soccer Skills Unlimited Boca Raton Tournament. Playing up a year, the girls finished second out of 7 teams. The Sting prevailed over the PBSA Nomads (9-1) and Magic Jacks (4-0), and won against Wellington Wave (4-0) in the semi-finals. The Sting met Team Boca in the finals, and Team Boca emerged the champions, winning 3-0.
October 18, 2009 - the u9 girls' have
fun and finish in second place in their first tournament.
September 28, 2009 -
Sunrise Sting 98/99 Girls finished first in the US Club Soccer Florida
Cup, South Division, Super Group A. The girls won all 4 games in their
group to qualify for the Final Four weekend, combining the top teams
from the north and south divisions.
September 7, 2009 - Sunrise
Sting 98/99 Girls take second in the Atlanta Cup. The girls had a
wonderful experience in their first out-of-state tournament, and the
opportunity to play teams from Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
Sunrise reached the finals letting in only 1 goal in 4 games, where they
met Tophat Gold (Georgia). The Hatters prevailed over the Sting 2-0 in
an exciting game.
September 7, 2009 - The 96/97 team wins the Disney Showcase Qualifier.
August 2, 2009 - The 96/97 and the 98/99 girls' teams win National
titles at the Challenge Sports 3v3 National Championship. The 96/97 team
split into two squads and they combined for a 1-2 finish at the
tournament.
July 15, 2009 - The rising U17 boys
are headed to the US Club nationals after winning the regional. Congrats
and good luck!
July 10, 2009 - Congrats to U17 Premier player Jennifer Martin. Jen was
just named to the Region III ODP team, she is one of nine players from
Florida to receive the honor.
June 30, 2009 - The Sunrise 92/93
Premier team has been accepted to play in the Region III Premier League.
May 25, 2009 - The 96/97 (u12) girls played up in the Cup (Premier)
division of the Disney Memorial Day tournament. The team won their bracket with wins over the Florida Rush, Flagler United
and then playing Kendall to a draw. The Sting defeated Tropical in a
semi-final match but fell to Kendall in the championship.
May 10, 2009 - The 96/97 (u12) girls entered two teams in the
Miramar 3v3, the team won both the u12 and u13 divisions.
May 4, 2009 - The 96/97 (u12) girls played up in the Palm Bay Challenge
and won the title with a big win over an excellent FSA team.
May 4, 2009 - Congrats to the U14 boys for making the finals of the Nike
Champion Cup. The team defeated CFU 2-1, Leesburg 8-1 and the Florida
Rush before dropping the final to Weston 0-1.
April 25, 2009 - the 98/99 (u10) girls won the Pompano Beach 3v3.
April 19, 2009 - The u16 girls'
advance to the final four for the second straight year.

The 98/99 (u10) girls won
The Miami Lakes Spring Shootout playing up a year to u11 and competing
in the 8v8 format for the first time. Sunrise prevailed in the final
over Team Boca in an exciting game which remained scoreless at the end
of regulation time. Sunrise edged out Team Boca in penalty kicks by two
goals. Congratulations to both teams on a hard-fought game
April 4, 2009 - the 98/99 (u10) girls won the Naples 3v3. Also, the
96/97 (u12) girls split into two squads and won the u12 and u13
divisions.
March 29, 2008 - the 98/99 girls won the FAU 5v5 prevailing over
Parkland in the final.
March 20, 2009 - fourteen
Sunrise 92/93 girls make All-County, All-Area or All-State teams.
March 14, 2009 - the 96/97 (u12) girls were eliminated in the finals
of the Region Cup on PKs by Tropical. The team played up one year and
had a great run, winning four straight before dropping the final.
Congrats to Tropical on the win.
February 16, 2009 - Congratulations to our 98/99 (u10) girls, they
made it to the finals of the Disney President's Day Tournament. The team
lost to the Adrenaline in an exciting match. Both teams played well. The
96/97 (u12) girls won the Gator Showcase.
