Soccer Starts Wednesday
The Seminoles welcome back 14
letterwinners from last year’s squad that captured the ACC regular
season title.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Seminoles
fans, the wait is over! With the summer winding down, it can only mean
one thing…the start of the 2010 fall season is finally here. On
Wednesday, August 4 beginning at 9 a.m., the Florida State Women’s
Soccer team will hit the field for its first official practice at the
Seminole Soccer Complex.
Entering his sixth year as head coach
of the Seminole soccer program, Mark Krikorian welcomes 14 letterwinners
including 10 starters from last year’s squad that captured the ACC
regular season title for the first time in school history, while
advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
A total of 27
student-athletes, including 11 newcomers, make up this year's team which
is in search of their fifth College Cup appearance in the last eight
years.
The Seminoles will get their first taste of live action
when they square-off against Georgia in a preseason scrimmage at the
Seminole Soccer Complex on Friday, August 13 at 4:00 p.m.
The
quest for the school's first national championship begins in Pullman,
Wash., on Friday, August 20 as the Seminoles will face Washington State
in the season opener. The Seminoles will then face Gonzaga two days
later on the second day of the Washington State Tournament. FSU returns
to Tallahassee for its home opener on Sunday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m., as
the Seminoles host Stetson.
