Tallahassee, Fla. – Sun Sports & FSN Florida in conjunction with Florida
State University announced the television schedule for the 2008 Seminole
soccer season. The two networks will combine to broadcast four of the
nine home games at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Three of the four games
will feature Atlantic Coast Conference foes while the lone
non-conference match-up pits the Seminoles against their intra-state
rival, the Florida Gators.
The Seminoles will kick-off their 2008 television debut on Sunday,
September 7 as FSU play host to Florida. Game time is set for 4:30 pm
and it will air live on FSN Florida. Last year, the Gators defeated the
Seminoles 2-1 in Gainesville while the Garnet and Gold have been
victorious in three of the last five meetings.
The three remaining broadcasts will highlight ACC action with the first
coming on Sunday, September 28 as Florida State welcomes Virginia Tech
to Tallahassee for a 1:00 pm kick-off on Sun Sports. The Seminoles’
showdown against Wake Forest on Thursday, October 16 as well as with
Clemson on Thursday, October 23 will all be shown live on FSN Florida.
Times for both games against the Demon Deacons and Tigers are set for
7:00 pm.
The Clemson game will also be ‘Senior Day’ at the complex as Florida
State will honor its 2008 senior class before the final home game of the
regular season.
The games against Florida and Clemson will be shown statewide on FSN
Florida. The match against Virginia Tech will be shown to the
non-Florida Marlins territory on Sun Sports, while the game against Wake
Forest will be seen in the North and Central Florida markets as well as
in the non-Florida Panthers territory.
