Team Boca Girls Under 16's Selected To National League
July 27, 2008, Frisco, Texas -The Team Boca Under 16 girls team has been
formally selected to the US Soccer National League as the only Florida
girls team to receive such an honor. The US Soccer Federation created
the National League for elite club soccer players seeking to advance
their college, professional and U.S. National Team aspirations.
For elite-level teams, the US Youth Soccer National League is a natural
extension of the current system of leagues within US Youth Soccer's four
regions. Top teams from each of the four US Youth Soccer Regional
Leagues earn their way into the National League. The new league has
created a direct path to the annual US Youth Soccer National
Championships. The national championships, established in 1976, is the
culmination of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series where
the nation's champions are crowned in six age groups for boys and girls.
The league consists of the highest level teams in the country, as
selected by the national committee. In the girls under 16's they are: 1.
Cleveland FC (OHN), 2 Dallas Texans 93 G Red-Dallas (NTX),3 Eclipse
Select 92-93 (IL),4 Montclair United Thunderbolts (NJ),5 Scorpions Elite
(MA),6 Slammers FC (CAS),7 So Cal Blues-Dodge (CAS), 8 Team Boca 92/93
(FL).
The Team Boca Girls Under 16's won the Florida State Championship in May
and are now training for the prestigious Surf Cup Tournament held in San
Diego, CA., from August 1st thru August 4th. "This is obviously a
tremendous honor for our girls and they are very excited to participate
in the highest level league in the country", said Bill D'Addio, the
Director of Team Boca. "They're looking forward to the challenge of
competing against the best of the best" said D'Addio.
