Pinecrest U14 Girls win Presidents Cup

With a total team effort, Pinecrest Premiere U14 girls captured the clubs first Division 1 State President's Cup title. The team will now represent the State of Florida in the National Region III, Presidents Cup tournament in Columbus, Georgia.


Pinecrest opened the tournament against Region C Champion, RSL-Florida. Pinecrest scored first taking a 1-0 lead into halftime. Scoring again in the second period secured the 2-0 victory, and vaulted the team into Sunday’s championship match.


Bay United Sharks, Region D Champion, proved to be a very tough opponent. The game was scoreless through the first period of play. Pinecrest scored the only goal of the match off a corner kick late in the second period, to win the championship 1-0


Coach Alex Abaroa praised the girls for their team work during the tournament. "You all continue to amaze me, as you always find a way to win." Coach Abaroa will now have to keep his promise to the girls and shave his head. When you see him without his ponytail you’ll know why!
