TEAM BOCA GIRLS UNDER 17's WINS PRESTIGIOUS DISNEY SHOWCASE

The Team Boca Girls Under 17 team won the Disney Showcase Youth Soccer Tournament, held at Disney's Wide World of Sports on Jan 1 thru Jan. 4.  Team Boca began the tournament with a tough game against the Laurel Maryland Wildcats that finished scoreless in a 0 - 0 tie.  Their next game also ended in a tie, but this time a 1-1 battle against Norcross Georgia Fury.  Due to the two ties in group play, Team Boca needed a perfect, maximum point, 3-0 shutout win in their final group game against Javanon Kentucky to advance as a wild card entry to the semi finals.  In a tremendous team effort, Team Boca came through with the necessary 3-0 win and earned a spot in the playoffs.  Next step was a huge upset win over nationally ranked Solar Texas in a hard fought 1-0 battle that launched Team Boca into the Championship game.  In a very defensive final against TNFC Tennessee, where the run of play went back and forth all game, Team Boca prevailed with a 1-0 victory.  "This team has really come together this season under coach Nugent" said Bill D'Addio, Team Boca Director.  "Steve has done a remarkable job teaching our 17's to play excellent possession soccer."  said D'Addio.  The next stops for the Team Boca Girls 17's will be the Tampa Score at the Shore Tournament in February, followed by the Las Vegas College Showcase tournament, held in March.
