Parkland's Wys to play on U17 WNT, Commits to FSU

Goalkeeper Kelsey Wys of the Parkland Lady Predators U17 team and Douglas High School has been selected to represent the USA on the Women's Under 17 National Team. On January 23rd, Kelsey will depart with her national teammates to New Zealand for ten days of competition in preparation for CONCACAF qualifying for next Fall's FIFA Women's U17 World Cup scheduled for October 30-November 16, 2008. CONCACAF sites and dates have yet to be determined, but will take place sometime in the middle of 2008.

In other news, Kelsey has verbally committed to attend Florida State University in the fall of 2009. She also received interest from Florida, Auburn, UCLA, Pitt, Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas A & M. She is the daughter of proud parents Richard and Gay Wys of Coral Springs, Florida.
