CAA Creeks U13 Coed wins BYSL Brevard Fall Challenge

The Creeks Athletic Association Clash U13 (B3CAA301NFY) coed soccer team won the Brevard Fall Challenge (Under 13 Boys National) during the October 6-7, 2007 weekend, with a 3-0 victory over SCUSC Storm U13 (B5SCU301BYS). Clash played 4 rain-delayed games over the weekend, scoring 8 goals and allowing just 2 goals in the tournament. Three of the victories were shutouts, with one a 1-0 victory over a very strong Melbourne Beach Tsunami team (B5MLB301OCL).

On Saturday, Clash, coached by Carlos Almeida, and Joao Sarpi (Team Trainer) won its first game 2-0 against the Titusville Soccer Club Tritons (B5TSC302BYS), and came from behind to tie fellow finalist SCUSC Storm 2-2. Then Clash locked up 1st place in the bracket and the ticket to the final with a close 1-0 victory against formidable Melbourne Beach Tsunami.

On Sunday afternoon, the tournament championship game was decided against Space Coast, who got the ticket to the final thanks to two ties and a 1-0 victory over Clay County Rangers (B3CCS301NFY). Clash scored 2 goals early in the game and then controlled the game, scoring the final goal mid-way in the second half; the result was a 3-0 Clash win. Strong Clash defense stymied the speedy Rangers attacks, which kept them off balance for most of the match. Afterwards, the Clash team and fans congratulated the Rangers for a well fought game.
