Burgess named Renegades Director
of Coaching and Player Development

The Coral Springs Renegades Soccer Club is pleased to announce the
appointment of Steve Burgess to the position of Director of Coaching and
Player Development. This move reaffirms The Club's dedication to player
development in Coral Springs and surrounding communities and its
commitment to providing the highest level of training and development to
the Renegades players, coaches, and parents.
The Renegades Soccer Club, a member of the Florida Youth Soccer
Association (FYSA), is one of the largest competitive youth soccer
organizations in the State of Florida. Founded in 1995 with only four
girls’ teams, the Renegades now proudly field more than 2 dozen youth
teams playing in the South Florida United Youth Soccer Association, (for
boys,) the Florida United Girls Soccer Association, (for girls,) and
other leagues.
Renegades teams have participated in and won many state and local
tournaments over the past several years. Teams have traveled to such
prestigious tournaments as "WAGS" in Washington D.C., The Orange Classic
in Miami, The Surf Cup in California, The Sun Bowl in Tampa, The
Raleigh Shoot-out in North Carolina, The Dallas Cup in Texas, and The
Super Clubs in Orlando. In addition, Renegades teams have also had
success in international competition, having participated in tournaments
in England, Sweden, Denmark and other European countries.
Steve Burgess has a strong soccer history in the State of Florida as a
high school and competitive league soccer coach and trainer. As the
girls' varsity soccer coach for American Heritage Delray, Steve has lead
his teams to four consecutive Florida High School Athletic Association
(FHSAA) final appearances, winning two State Championships in the
process. He has been recognized numerous times as the Palm Beach County
Coach of the Year, and in 2006 he was named as one of the NSCAA's High
School Coaches of the Year. Steve, through his company Pass Soccer, has
long been affiliated with the Renegades and was a founding member in
setting up a complete player development system for the club.
His credentials include: NSCAA Premier Diploma, USSF 'B' License, Brusa
'C' License, Goalkeeper Level 2 Diploma, ICA Bronze Certificate, ICA
Fitness & Conditioning Certificate, FA Psychology Level 1, and NCSS
Sports Safety. His current soccer positions include: NSCAA State
Technical Director - Florida East, NSCAA Region V Staff, Florida ODP
Staff, and American Heritage Delray Girls Varsity Coach.

the game, dedication to creating a positive atmosphere for the players
on and off the field, and an organizational background that well
positions him to run such a vital component of The Club’s soccer
operations. We are pleased with this appointment and are excited about
