 FSC Spirit of 93 at Atlanta Cup

The weather the weekend of September 1, 2007 could not have been better for a Florida team to play soccer in Atlanta. There was a light cloud cover with a cool breeze most of the weekend. The Spirit of 93 (U15 Boys) from the Florida Soccer Club of Tampa Bay in Temple Terrace Florida play soccer during the regular season in the USA Soccer League U15 Division 1, but over the Labor Day weekend the team traveled to Atlanta to play in the Atlanta Cup tournament. Fifty-two U15 boys’ teams played in 4 different brackets. Teams were from Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida all competed in the 2007 Atlanta Cup.

Spirit played in Under 15 Boys C Group C, and the teams played were Roswell Santos, Atlanta Fire United 93 Silver, and VLSC Lightning FC during the Preliminary rounds with Spirit winning all three games with out a single point scored against Spirit.

The Semi Final round was against TYSA Triumph Green; Spirit scored first 9 minutes into the game with TYSA getting a PK score in the closing minutes the game forcing two over times which were score less. In PK Spirit won 3 to 2.

Labor Day morning Spirit met Carolina FC 92 Boys Blue and won the Final with Spirit scoring 2 goals and Carolina 0. All of the teams Spirit played are ranked in USA Rank.
