Kendall Girls fall short at Disney Showcase Qualifier

Kendall came to Disney Showcase Qualifier with high expectations, with a successful Y-League season. They started by taking care of RSL in the first game by winning 2 - 0 with goals by Nicole Zamora and Jasmine Paterson, with the defense anchoring the victory, with Dasha Munoz, Alexia Clark, Heather Williams and Katrina Seidenthal.

In the second game they also took care of business with goals from Jasmine Paterson and Scarlet Montoya and the defense once again holding off the offense winning 3 - 1. While the mid-field did a wonderful job of controlling the ball, with Alix Fiore, Cerene Arsenault, Ruthie Leiva, Barbara Murillo, and Laura Piedrahita.

Disaster struck 5 minutes into their 3rd game against Inter United, when captain Katrina Seidenthal broke her wrist and was taken to the hospital.
Kendall pulled it together in the second half making a nail biter until the last minute losing 2 - 1.

In the semi-final game they met Melbourne Tsunami last years State Cup winner. The game went back and forth with Kendall taking the lead 2 - 1 into the second half, Tsunami tied the score and it stayed that way into over time. A last second goal was called back against Kendall taking the game into penalty kicks. Where Tsunami finally prevailed 5 -4.

Kendall now will continue playing the early season in the boys U-15 league, And then heading to Beach FC in Virginia in October, hoping for a quick recovery of their fallen captain.
