Koun's staff
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. July 9, 2007
JU announced the hiring of former Georgia State star Amanda Schneider as
Assistant Women's Soccer Coach, head coach Chris Kouns announced on
Monday.
Schneider, who spent the 2006 campaign coaching various club teams at
the Tophat Soccer Club in Atlanta, also worked summer camps at Emory and

position at her alma mater, West Virginia, at the end of the 2006
season.
A four-year letterwinner at Georgia State from 2002-05 as a center
midfielder, Schneider started 44 of 78 games for the Panthers while
leading the squad to consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament
appearances in 2002 (while Kouns was an assistant with the program) and
2003. As a senior team captain, she enjoyed her best season by leading
the team with a six assists while also tallying three goals and 12
points. She finished her career with six goals, 14 assists and 26
points.
"I am very excited to have Mandy join us this year," Kouns said. "I have
been fortunate enough to coach Mandy in the Georgia Olympic Development
Program and at Georgia State so I know her character and her work rate.
I think she will do a great job as an assistant and I know that the
girls will benefit from her experience as a former NCAA Division I
college athlete."
JU will open the 2007 season at the Ashley Sports Complex on Friday,
Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. against Presbyterian.
