Beach Takes over 1st place in WPSL South Conference Palm Beach United’s Women’s WPSL team took over 1st place in the South conference after this weekends play. PBU played two games this weekend tying last years undefeated conference champions the Tampa Bay Elite at home and beating the Orlando Falcons away. Local soccer star Keri Dye notched two crucial goals to help push PBU into first place. Dye, a former South Fork HS standout and Hobe Sound Strikers club player attended Rollins College and played as a starter and captain for four years. Adding to the weekend results was a very organized and aggressive defense led by Olympic Gold Medalist Staci Wilson. Working with Staci were goalkeeper Megan Coyne (FAU graduate), and defensive midfielder Michelle Provanzan (Miami U graduate). Head coach Brad Partridge stated “Our defense is very stingy when it come to allowing opponents into our end of the field and if they do get in we do not allow them to stay very long. Our defense is extremely flexible and fast.” PBU will continue their quest for the conference title next Saturday when they play the Miami Kickers in Coral Springs at 7:00 PM on Saturday.
