Team Boca Alum Trotter Training
for World Cup Team
6/6/07
The U.S. Women's National Team has earned the top spot in the FIFA World
Rankings, thanks in part to key contributions from new younger players.
Defender India Trotter is one of those new stars looking to help put the
U.S. back on the top of Women's soccer. The Team Boca Alum and former
FYSA ODP player was recently named to the 32 player field residency
roster, as the U.S. gets ready for the FIFA World Cup in China scheduled
for September. Trotter is a three time Florida State Cup Champion with
Team Boca and is the fifth youngest player in training camp in Carson,
Calf. Trotter finished her senior season at Florida State as arguably
the most heralded soccer player in school history. She was the first two
time NSCAA All-American in FSU history and the only player in America to
be named to three of the last four NCAA All-Tournament teams. She was
also the first Florida State player to ever be named a M.A.C. Hermann
Trophy semi-finalist. This past month Trotter has been training at her
old stomping grounds at Team Boca, where she also took time out to lend
a hand and encourage the younger players there. "India is obviously a
great inspiration to our younger players at Team Boca. They all look up
to her as a role model and she delivers both on and off the field" said
Bill D'Addio, Director of Team Boca.
