Parkland To Make 4th Straight
Trip to Final Four
5/9/07
The Parkland Lady Predators U-16's made it four consecutive trips to the
state cup final four this past weekend at Palm Bay Regional Park (the
first three came as the Lady Renegades out of Coral Springs). No other
team/club in this age group has qualified for more than two; thus making
the experience that much more meaningful. "Getting there once is an
accomplishment in itself, but four straight trips is really a statement
of the commitment of the players and coaching staff", stated head coach
Steve Lorenc. The girls opened up with a 6-0 victory over FC America on
Saturday placing them in a state quarter-final showdown versus a very
strong Space Coast United squad on Sunday.
In a game that could have gone either way, it was the Parkland girls who
came out on top with a hard fought 2-1 win setting up yet another trip
to the exclusive final four.
Parkland is matched up with defending state champion Clay County United
in one semi-final match, while Valrico SC is set to play the Tampa
Knights in the other semi-final game. All final four games will be held
at Kelly Road Sports Complex in Fort Myers over the weekend of May 19th
& 20th.
