 Florida Soccer No. 13 in Soccer America Preseason Poll

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Florida soccer team is ranked No.
13 on the Soccer America preseason poll, the magazine announced today.
North Carolina is preseason No. 1 on the Soccer America poll, while 2004
NCAA champion Notre Dame is No. 2.

The Gators are scheduled to play three Soccer America preseason ranked
teams during the 2005 regular season. Two preseason top-10 teams await
Florida at the adidas Classic in South Bend, Ind. - No. 2 Notre Dame on
Sept. 2 and No. 9 Connecticut on Sept. 4. The Gators will face No. 20
Tennessee on Sept. 30 in Knoxville, Tenn.

Florida posted a record of 16-4-3 in 2004, won the SEC Tournament title
and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Florida plays Jacksonville State in an exhibition match at the Westfield
Cup in Akron, Ohio, on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 3 p.m. (ET). Florida opens
the season Friday, August 26 vs. Drake. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at
the James G. Pressly Stadium and admission is free. Live, streaming
